Property Derivatives
The London financial and property markets have been at the forefront of developing liquid and widely traded property derivatives. Since the initial trades in 2005, total outstanding volumes in UK commercial property derivatives reached an estimated £8billion by the Q1 2009. Property markets in other countries have seen these exciting developments and are now following suit with many emerging foreign markets.
Supply and demand plus the expectations of future performance in property markets have been the principle drivers behind pricing in property derivatives markets on indices that cannot be hedged. MSS has been working in this market since its inception and is able to draw on its direct property investment experience from its fund management mandates. Benefiting from this deep understanding of direct and indirect real estate investment, the property derivatives market and structuring capabilities, MSS is in a position to exploit market inefficiencies and offer bespoke property/finance solutions in this ever changing climate.
